Artist Statement
My practice explores vulnerability as strength, and resilience as a path to freedom.
After years of designing for corporate clients, I needed to reconnect with my creative roots and create for myself. I began using art to explore personal transformation, impermanence, resilience, and the quiet tension between fragility, struggle and inner power. I make art to illuminate the shadowy parts of myself. Through art, I transform vulnerability into light.
As a visual artist and photographer, I create mixed-media portraits and characters, sometimes integrating my own photographs of weathered textures—rusted metal, aged wood, forgotten stone—with digital or acrylic painting.
Moths are at the heart of my visual universe, as they perfectly symbolize the themes of vulnerability, strength, transformation, and resilience that I explore and express. The symbolic is clear and beautiful: these fabulous creatures live in darkness, drawn to the light, forgetting that they carry that light within themselves!
