Second in the Silence series. He carries the chain not only on his ear, but in every word he was never allowed to say — every time trauma, fear, or society told him to stay quiet. Yet his gaze refuses to look away. The background is my own photograph of an abandoned freight train: rusted steel and forgotten rails that once moved but now stand still. These textures speak of interrupted journeys, much like the voices we hold inside when they can’t be heard. Before the scream, there is silence.
