Third in the Silence series. This portrait captures silence when it becomes part of the landscape: when the voice has been quiet for so long that the stillness starts to feel like home. However, in his eyes, there is a spark that refuses to fade completely. The background is my own photograph of an old train carriage — these relics of journeys interrupted mirror the inner paths we leave on hold, when speaking feels impossible. Before the return comes the endurance. Before the voice breaks through, there is silence.
